�������� ranked in top 20 medical schools for primary care residents

U.S. News and World Report has named the �������� College of Osteopathic Medicine (�������� COM) among the top 20 medical schools in the country for producing primary care residents. �������� COM also ranked highly among all medical schools in other categories.

The rankings are part of the publication’s annual list of best medical schools for primary care, determined using the number of students entering primary care specialties upon graduation, as well as surveys from medical schools, test scores, and average GPA.

Fifty-six percent of �������� COM graduates enter primary care specialties following graduation, based on data from 2018-2020.

“�������� COM continues garner a national reputation as a provider of exceptional primary care doctors,” said Jane Carreiro, D.O., dean of �������� COM and vice president for Health Affairs. “We train doctors who work across disciplines to care for whole patients, perfectly positioning them for primary care practice.”

In addition to the top 20 ranking for residents, �������� COM was ranked 12th in the country for graduates practicing in rural areas and 23rd for the number of graduates practicing primary care specialties.
